Creatures of Movement

Richard's attention to detail lends authenticity to his "Carousel Series" he spent 
several years studying the work of master carousel horse carvers and thier
history, and has compiled an exensive library on this subject.

Employing this backgound he begins each painting with a detailed study based
on a particular carvers work. Sometimes a painting just starts with a brush. 

His carousal horse paintings are childhood memories of super large, somewhat
terrifying surrealistic creatures. His use of color heightens the emotion and
movement in each of his images.
